Lightbox Projects has had the privilege of working with a range of individuals and organisations. Here’s what a few of them have to say about their experiences with us.
Renée Tanner was employed as the first manager of the Auckland Art Gallery Foundation in 2015.
At that stage, the Foundation was starting on a new phase of its existence, and Renee’s role included developing a marketing plan, with associated collateral, to re-launch the Foundation to both existing and new donors and to plan a major function to mark this occasion.
This she did competently and efficiently, and having achieved the re-launch, she was then responsible for the day to day contact with, and care of our growing number of donors, for setting up the necessary administrative systems to manage their donations, and to plan and execute a regular number of events to keep these donors engaged.
All of this involved working with both the Trustees of the Foundation, and with the management of the art Gallery, which she did with refreshing energy and creativity.
Renée did an excellent job in this role, and I cannot recommend her too highly.
Chair, Auckland Art Gallery Foundation.
Working with Renee is a dream. She is a one stop shop and enables excellent client savings through her ability and creative approach. It has been a bonus not to outsource CRM management and simple web design due to her skills. Committed, gracious and very talented.

Renée’s great communications skills, thinking outside of the box attitude, ability to grasp the essence of practice allows us to explore new opportunities and achieve greater results.
If there is an Angel Investor in the startup industry, then Renée can be called an Angel Arts Broker who works hard to ensure your creative organisation or individual practice will be thriving even during COVID-19 times!
I can’t thank Renée enough for her outstanding work, resilience, and immense support that she provided Papaya Stories and myself as an Arts Practitioner in 2020.

For the past two years, Renée has made our involvement with the ‘Open Studios Waitakere’ a pleasure with great communication and help in facilitating a very successful event for us. Renée has also organised many aspects during the event that have connected us to a wider community of arts professionals but also our local community. Renée’s management of the event has made this a fantastic event for us.

Graphic Designer
I have been fortunate enough to be supported by the Mangere Otahuhu Arts Broker fund, which Renée administers for the Mangere Otahuhu Board. The fund has supported me to successfully receive funding with several arts projects in our local community.
Renée, through her role as Arts Broker continues to offer support for my practice and keeps me up to date with opportunities happening around the country. Renée is a real champion for the arts and artists and is very knowledgeable about the industry. I’ve really appreciated all her awhi in believing in me and what I do.

Renée and I worked together on our project Walking in Trees. Renée confidently navigated the complexities of funding applications, health and safety, and other logistics that come with getting a large-scale public-art project successfully off the ground.
For me, as an artist, it was terrific to work with someone that could offer the kind of ongoing encouragement and support that she could during the whole creative process. Nothing seemed too big or out of the question for Renée; challenges were met with positivity, clear communication and some swift, lateral thinking.

As a local artist residing in Favona, Renée has been a consistent champion as the Mangere Otahuhu Arts Broker, encouraging me to seed and grow my creative idea’s in a local space, and providing opportunities for me to give back to my local community. She has provided consultation, believed in my artistic vision and trusted my delivery of it. I have appreciated her insightful investment into my growth and sustainability as a local artist.
